Most advice about AI stops at the office door — write emails faster, summarize meetings, ship code. But life is bigger than work, and the moments people actually get stuck are rarely in a spreadsheet: it's midnight before a funeral and the eulogy isn't written; the resume keeps vanishing into application portals; the Etsy shop isn't getting found; the crew needs a safety talk in the morning.
Broke to Built exists to show that AI — used carefully, with a human hand on it — can genuinely help with all of it. We write one careful, specific answer to one real question, put it near the top in plain language, and hand you a finished template you can use immediately. No email wall. No "unlock the full version." Just the help, free.
Who's behind it
We're a small, independent operation, founded and run by Anthony — a builder and lifelong automator who got tired of thin, padded content and started writing the guides and tools he wished existed. We focus on subjects where people are often stressed, grieving, or simply out of their depth, because that's exactly where clear, honest help matters most. Everything we publish is reviewed by a person before it goes live; we explain that process in full on our editorial standards page.
Anthony has spent over a decade building automation — long before AI made it fashionable — and designed every tool on this site personally: the deterministic engines behind them, the fact-checking gates the guides pass through, and the publishing system that runs it all on free infrastructure. The site's own source code is public on GitHub — the engineering is part of the honesty. He writes under his first name; if you need to reach him, the contact page lands in his inbox.
What you'll find here
115 free guides across a handful of real-life topics — writing through loss, landing the job, jobsite safety talks, selling on Etsy, and more — each with a template built in. Plus 12 free tools that run right in your browser, from an eulogy writer to a resume checker.
What we stand for
Free, and actually free
No paywall, no email wall, no "sign up to see the rest." If it's on the site, you can read it.
A real answer, up top
The point of the page comes first — then the detail, the examples, and a template you can use.
Reviewed by a human
Nothing publishes on autopilot. A person checks the facts, the examples, and the tone.
We fix our mistakes
Spot an error? Tell us and we'll correct it. Accuracy beats looking infallible.
How we keep the lights on
The site is free to read and costs us very little to run. We cover that with unobtrusive advertising and a small number of clearly-marked affiliate links to tools we genuinely use — never by charging you or gating the guides. Exactly how that works is spelled out on our affiliate disclosure page.
